Assignment:

Topiary

Topiaries are shrubs in the shape of animals. In this assignment, students will use photoshop to shape the shrubs into realistic but improbable images.

Advanced students are to create 3  animals of your choosing. Find images on the internet to use as reference.   You will use The shrub images are found on the Shrubbery.

Digital Graphics Honors students are to choose one of the famous paintings below and create a set of shrubs in the shape of that image. Copy small samples of the the shrubs found on the Shrubbery Page and paste them on top of the painting. Turn, trim, stretch, and shade the pieces until they reproduce the image. Try to keep the shrubs as realistic as possible. Each artwork can only be used by one student, so sign on the sheet at the front of the room which artwork you will use.

Suggestions:
-Set the lasso tool option for a feather of one pixel for a soft edge.
-Use the magic wand to select and remove any blue from the clouds,
the old sky will seldom blend well with the new sky.
-Concentrate on the shapes, not the lights or darks of the painting.
